In a momentous endeavor for the realms of performing arts and the community of those with disabilities, Ability Unlimited – College of Performing Arts, a trailblazing institution devoted to Wheelchair Dance and Choreography for Persons with Disabilities, doth proudly proclaim the unveiling of Certificate and Diploma Courses in the noble art of Wheelchair Dance and Choreography. This singular program hath been conceived specifically for those of differing abilities, bestowing upon them the chance to cultivate their talents in dance, choreography, and performance.
This grand initiative hath come to fruition through an alliance with Karnataka State Dr. Gangubhai Hangal Music and Performing Arts University Mysore, further affirming the college’s stature as a paragon of inclusive arts education. The courses shall provide thorough training in Classical Wheelchair Bharatanatyam, Wheelchair Dance Techniques, Exercises and Yoga Upon Wheelchairs, Choreography and Libretto Writing, Stagecraft, Music, Costume Design, and the art of Make-up. A brief study of Natyashastra and Abhinaya Darpana, coupled with practical experience in performance upon the stage, shall prepare students to emerge as professional dancers. In addition to the classical dance upon wheelchairs, they shall be introduced to diverse forms of classical, folk, and tribal dance of India, all adapted to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities.
The illustrious founder, Syed Sallauddin Pasha, an award-winning choreographer, alongside the esteemed Principal Mahiraa Jaan Pasha, didst share their vision for this noble program:

The institution standeth fully equipped with both physical tomes and a digital library, which encompass various forms of wheelchair dances, their histories, and the very mechanics of dancing wheelchairs, including those of electric nature. It also houses a vast array of costumes, from mythological to historical and contemporary, alongside a fully appointed auditorium, including a Black Box Studio, Green Screen Studio, and White Screen Studio, serving as a veritable resource hub for students of diverse disabilities. The library doth offer materials in English and Kannada, delving into culture, music (Carnatic, Hindustani), dance (classical, folk, western, modern), mythology, history, Sanskrit, and Braille. Furthermore, it includes tactile diagrams for touch-and-learn, materials for sign language, and dance sets.
